According to Mantan Web, the cover art for this special edition will be by Gege Akutami, the creator of Jujutsu Kaisen. What’s unique is that the cover will be integrated into an acrylic stand, allowing the magazine to be displayed upright. This one-of-a-kind item, known as the “Gojo and the Two Problem Children Acrylic Stand,” is the first time in Weekly Shonen Jump history that an acrylic stand has been included as an attachment for magazine purchasers.

The cover and matching acrylic stand will feature the fan favorite character Gojo Satoru and his two students, Yuji Itadori and Yuta Okkotsuo. In honor of Gojo winning first place in Jujutsu Kaisen’s fourth official popularity poll in June.

Weekly Shonen Jump is one of the most well-known manga publications in history. Shueisha Inc., Japan’s largest publishing company, released its first issue on August 1, 1968. Over the years, it has hosted some of the most iconic serialized anime, including Akira Toriyama’s Dragon Ball and Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece, among many others.

On March 5, 2018, Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen made its debut in Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The series centers on Yuji Itadori, a high school student who becomes entangled in a world of evil sorcerers and magical forces. After being cursed to host an ancient sorcerer, Yuji is trained by Gojo Satoru, who hopes to help him overcome his supernatural condition and avoid death.

Akutami recently revealed how he wished he had approached the “Culling Game” story arc in Jujutsu Kaisen. He expressed a desire to build anticipation by introducing new characters through side stories in advance. This approach, he believes, would have clarified the story and given characters such as Tsumiki and Kurusu more prominent roles. It may also have facilitated the inclusion of the Gojo retrieval arc.

The “Jump GIGA 2024 SUMMER” special edition of Weekly Shonen Jump will be released on August 8, 2024. Viz Media has licensed Gege Akutami’s ongoing Jujutsu Kaisen manga in English, so fans all over the world can enjoy it.

Stay tuned for this historic release, which honors Weekly Shonen Jump’s legacy and Jujutsu Kaisen’s phenomenal success.
