The Pokémon Center, the official store for all things Pokémon, has unveiled a large selection of Japanese-style items ideal for relaxing in the summer heat. This new collection includes a lightweight festive kimono and other fashionable items.
On July 6, the Pokémon Center will debut its new summer merchandise and clothing line. The summer kimono, which costs around $95, and a wide-brimmed hat stand out. The collection also includes shirts, bags, caps, glasses, hairpins, and earrings, as well as household items like masking tape, sticky notes, and kitchenware like plates, teacups, and glass bowls. Readers can view images and learn more about the Pokémon Center’s new summer collection below.
Summer festivals in general, as well as Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero, serve as inspiration for the collection. These festivals, as the name implies, are a collection of regional celebrations held to mark the season. Its Center recommends the “refreshing green” yukata for summer outings, writing, “Coordinating them with hairpins featuring Ogerpon and clear earrings featuring Pecharunt is also stylish!” The product listing also mentions that the One-handed Summer Festival bag and Summer Festival Ribbon Scrunchie complement the kimono, both of which are shown in the gallery above.
Given the popularity of summer festivals, it’s no surprise that many beloved IPs are releasing similar-themed products and artwork this season. In May, Hello Kitty debuted a new yukata collection, which includes both male and female versions. Additionally, new My Hero Academia traditional ukiyo-e prints featuring its male cast wearing yukata will be available this summer. In addition to seasonal merchandise, its Center sells plush dolls, daily necessities, general clothing, and other items.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero is a DLC for Scarlet and Violet that was first released in September 2023.
