After witnessing Luffy and Zoro effortlessly defeat Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine, Princess Vivi is left shocked and surprised. Luffy and Zoro intend to continue their fight, but Nami appears on the scene and quickly knocks them out with punches to their faces.
Nami explains the situation to the group, clearing up Luffy’s misunderstanding and the details of the contract regarding saving the princess. Although Princess Vivi is grateful for their help, she hesitates to agree to the contract as her country, Alabasta, is currently embroiled in a civil strife, making it challenging to spare the promised money. She explains that Alabasta was once a peaceful and highly civilized country within the Grand Line, but recent years have seen it plagued by revolutionary activities incited by radical Alabastian revolutionaries. The chaos has been fueled by Baroque Works, who are instigating the revolutionaries.
Vivi shares her reasons for infiltrating Baroque Works, hoping to put an end to the dark shadow that looms over her country and discover the organization’s true objectives. Baroque Works has plans to take over the Kingdom of Alabasta as part of their goal to create an ideal nation. If Vivi doesn’t return to her country quickly to stop the revolutionaries and expose Baroque Works’ plans, everything will go as they have intended.
Luffy’s curiosity leads him to inquire about the identity of Baroque Works’ boss, to which Vivi accidentally reveals his name, Crocodile, a member of the Warlords. Moreover Mr 13 and Miss Friday overhears the conversation and flies away to report to the boss. Having said that if anyone knew the identity of Boss’s, Baroque Works would come and hunt them down. As soon as they realize Baroque Works will be after them, everyone’s faces turn pale, especially upon hearing Crocodile’s history of having an 80 million belli bounty in his pirate days, four times that of Arlong’s bounty.
Nami expresses her concerns as they are now hunted by Baroque Works. However, Igaram presents a plan. Disguised as Princess Vivi and carrying three dummies to represent Luffy, Zoro, and Nami, he intends to lure the Baroque Works agents away from the real Straw Hat Pirates. They will sail to Alabasta on their ship via the normal route, aiming to draw the pursuers’ attention.
Igaram takes the Eternal Pose to Alabasta, explaining to Nami that it can eternally record the magnetic field of a specific island. No matter where they go, it will always point to that island.
Igaram bids his farewell, carrying the three dummies, and heads towards Alabasta. However, soon after, a massive explosion occurs at sea, and Igaram’s ship is engulfed in flames. The crew is angered by this development but decides to leave the island as getting caught by the Baroque Works in the island will mean the sacrifice of Igaram in vain. Moreover Nami tells that the log pose has finished recording the magnetic fields, they are ready to set sail.
