Buggy orchestrates a public execution of Luffy right in the heart of the town, aiming to assert his dominance over him. Upon witnessing this perilous situation, Zoro and Sanji swiftly race towards the execution site, determined to rescue their captain. Meanwhile, Ussop and Nami recognize the impending storm and hasten towards the harbor, aware that their ship could be washed away, leaving them stranded on the island. Concurrently, Mohji, accompanied by his loyal lion Richie, catches sight of Luffy’s ship, plotting to destroy it and maroon the entire crew on the island.

At the execution point, Buggy raises his sword to carry out Luffy’s execution. Zoro and Sanji continue their desperate dash towards the platform, confronting and subduing every member of Buggy’s group that stands in their way. However, they remain some distance away from the execution platform. Just as Buggy’s blade is descending, targeting Luffy’s head, the impossible transpires. A massive bolt of lightning strikes Buggy, obliterating the execution stand and effectively saving Luffy’s life. In a moment of relief, Luffy grins and acknowledges the role of fortune in his salvation. Meanwhile, Captain Smoker, observing the unfolding events from a distance, initially plans to engage the pirates in combat before capturing them. Yet, Luffy’s unyielding smile in the face of impending death evokes memories of Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, who bore a similar expression before his execution.

During this tumult, Smoker receives a report that the ammunition of the marine unit stationed at the harbor has been soaked due to the rainstorm. As a result, the unit has returned to the marine station to retrieve dry ammunition and explosives. This unexpected turn of events leaves the harbor devoid of marine soldiers. Additionally, the prevailing wind direction is favorable, blowing westward. Smoker interprets this confluence of circumstances as a stroke of luck, akin to the heavens themselves assisting the pirates’ escape.
