Luffy, standing at the execution site, reflects upon its historical significance as the birthplace of the Pirate Era, where the legendary Gol D. Roger met his end. Meanwhile, Zoro ventures into a shop that specializes in selling swords. He proposes purchasing two swords for 100,000 Beli, initially facing refusal due to his limited funds. However, upon catching sight of Zoro’s distinct sword, the Wado Ichimonji, the shopkeeper recognizes its true worth as one of the revered 21 Great Grade Swords.

Employing shrewd tactics, the shopkeeper attempts to negotiate with Zoro, hoping to acquire the coveted sword. Yet, Zoro firmly declines, prompting the shopkeeper to raise the price. Here, a girl resembling Kunai, Zoro’s old friend, intervenes. She exposes the shopkeeper’s ploy and reveals the true value of the sword, no less than a million Beli. Angered by her interference, the shopkeeper dismisses her after maintaining her high-grade sword named Shigure. Unbeknownst to her, Zoro is the notorious bounty hunter Roronoa Zoro, but she remains ignorant of his identity.

The girl laments the fact that many wicked individuals, like pirates and bounty hunters, possess these exceptional swords. She expresses her resolute goal of diligently training to reclaim these masterpieces from the clutches of criminals. She describes the three categories of masterwork swords: 12 Supreme Grade Swords, 21 Great Grade Swords, and 50 skillful crafted swords.

Meanwhile, the shopkeeper guides Zoro to a barrel of swords, all priced at 50,000 Beli. Zoro selects one, prompting the girl’s astonishment as it turns out to be the Sandai Kitetsu, a cursed high-grade sword. Puzzled by the shopkeeper’s seemingly low price, the girl is taken aback. Zoro, undeterred, tests the sword’s curse by tossing it in the air and stretching his hand in the path of sword as it descends. But the cursed sword does not injures Zoro making it clear that for Zoro it is not a cursed sword. With a smile, he decides to purchase the Sandai Kitetsu, understanding its curse.

Impressed by Zoro’s courage and determination, the shopkeeper offers him Yubashiri, one of the 50 Skillful Grade Swords, as a gift, charging him nothing. He wishes Zoro luck with the two swords. Meanwhile, at the Loguetown Marine Station, Captain Smoker presides, accompanied by Major Tashigi and their contingent of Marine soldiers.
