Bellemere’s last words to Nami and Neijiko were to keep on living, as they will eventually encounter joyful times. Meanwhile, the Arlong Pirates discovered the maps Nami had drawn inside the house. Arlong decided to take Nami with them to be their cartographer, and despite the villagers’ brave attempts to challenge the fishmen, they were no match for their might, and Nami was taken away.
The next day, the villagers learned that the Arlong Pirates were setting up their base in their land. Determined to save Nami and the village, the villagers decided to fight back, even if it meant facing death. However, to their surprise, they saw Nami back in the village, carrying money. Nami revealed that she had willingly joined the Arlong Pirates as their cartographer, believing that she would gain everything she needed in exchange for her skills.
This revelation angered Genzou, who told Nami never to show her face in the village again. Nami ran outside the village and sat beside Bellemere’s grave. There, she was approached by Neijiko, and Nami disclosed her secret deal to collect 100 million belli to buy the entire village. By doing so, she believed she could prevent unnecessary conflicts between the villagers and the fishmen pirates, thus saving their lives.
Determined not to cry ever again and to become strong like Bellemere, Nami resolved to face her challenges with strength and determination.
