Luffy and the boat are sent flying to the west coast of Cocoyashi Village by the sea monster, and fortunately, they land near Zoro. Upon reuniting, Zoro informs them that Ussop’s life is in danger as he has been captured by the Arlong Pirates. However, their meeting is interrupted by Jhonny, who reveals that it’s too late as Ussop has already been killed by Nami. Jhonny insists he witnessed the event firsthand.
Meanwhile, at the coast, the villagers spot a Marine ship coming to rescue the people of Gosa Village, which was destroyed by the Arlong Pirates. Arlong Pirates also notice the Marine ship, and at first, Arlong considers bribing them with 2 million Belli. However, when the Marine ship fires a cannonball without warning, Arlong decides to eliminate them all. He sends his three officers, Kurubi, Hachhi, and Shuu, to attack the ship. Shuu emerges from the water and swiftly kills the marines he sees with a water pistol. Kurubi, submerged underwater, damages the ship’s rudder, rendering it helpless. Meanwhile, Hacchi strategically positions a large reef in the middle of a strong current, creating a massive whirlpool that engulfs the Marine ship, pulling it into the depths of the sea.
Luffy finds it hard to believe that Nami could have killed Ussop, who was their crewmate. However, Nami appears, vehemently denying any allegiance to Luffy’s crew.
