Ussop is taken aback to discover that he is in Nami’s home and learns that Nojiko is Nami’s adopted sister. Feeling angry and betrayed by Nami’s deception as an Arlong Pirate crew officer, Ussop initially gives up on the plan to get her back. However, he realizes that Zoro has been captured by them and decides to press on. Ussop explains the basic geography of the island, with Arlong Park and Gosa village at one end, and Cocoyashi village at the center, where they are currently docked with the Going Merry.
Meanwhile, Zoro is brought before Arlong and expresses his purpose of looking for a girl, but seeing Nami with them confuses him. He comes to know that Nami is the cartographer of the Arlong Pirates, and they discuss her loyalty to money. Nami refuses the request to come back and asks Zoro to leave. Unexpectedly, Zoro, despite being tied up, jumps into the pool. Nami immediately follows to save him since he can’t swim while bound. She request Arlong to lock Zoro up to end his misery later. Arlong gets a notice of an unidentified long-nosed man in Cocoyashi village, making Zoro realize they have discovered Ussop’s presence.
Arlong heads to Cocoyashi village, where a resident named Genzou engages in conversation with him. Genzou was in possession of weapons three days ago, but Arlong dismisses the idea, stating that weapons would only bring violence and adversity, laughing menacingly. Every month, the villagers pay tribute money to Arlong, and if even a single villager fails to pay, the entire village faces destruction, as evidenced by Gosa Village. Arlong boasts of controlling twenty villages and threatens punishment for anyone who defies his orders. Peering at Arlong, Ussop comments on his enormous size. Meanwhile, in Arlong Park, Nami reaches the lock-up area and urges Zoro to leave as quickly as possible, as Arlong and others won’t spare him.
