Ussop and the others come up with a plan to head to Cocoyashi village, and fortunately, they find the Going Merry. They decide to tie Zoro to the mast to prevent his carefree attitude from causing any trouble. The village appears frightening, with fishmen scattered everywhere. As the fishmen spot the ship, they rush to save themselves, prompting Ussop and Jhonny to leave the ship and jump into the water, leaving Zoro behind tied up. Unfortunately, Zoro gets caught and is taken in front of Arlong.
Ussop and Jhonny swim towards the shore and are shocked to see the village’s upside-down houses, as if a monster had gone on a rampage. They get chased by one of the fishmen, and Jhonny splits from Ussop to save his own life. Ussop continues to be chased by the fishman when suddenly a boy points his katana at Ussop, mistaking him for a fishman. However, a lady named Nojiko warns the child not to harm the fishman, as it would bring consequences to his family. Ussop plans to retaliate with his catapult but is knocked unconscious by Nojiko, who advises him not to harm the fishman.
Later, Ussop wakes up and is surprised to find out that Nojiko was the one who knocked him out. Nojiko explains to Ussop that the little boy was trying to protect his mother and had already left. Nojiko reveals that Nami is the crew officer of the Arlong Pirates. Meanwhile, Zoro is taken back to Arlong.
