After defeating Morgan, the entire Marine organization rejoices, relieved to be free from Morgan’s control. Luffy and Zoro are taken aback by the soldiers’ jubilation. The heroes are invited to a restaurant to enjoy a well-deserved feast. Amidst their meal, they discuss their future plans. Luffy intends to venture into the Grand Line in search of the legendary treasure, One Piece. Zoro eagerly prepares for the upcoming adventures that lie ahead. Coby reveals his plan to join the Marines and rise through the ranks.
However, the peace and harmony are abruptly disrupted by the Marines, who remind Luffy and Zoro that pirates and Marines can never be friends. Luffy and Zoro rise to leave, but before they can depart, Coby is questioned about being a part of their group. Coby, suppressing his emotions, admits that he is not. Further provoked by Luffy revealing his own past as a pirate, Coby punches Luffy, sparking a fight between the two.
The Marines, observing the altercation, conclude that there is no friendship between them, satisfied that their concerns about the potential dangers of forming an alliance have been dispelled. Coby realizes that it was Luffy’s plan to portray their relationship as that of enemies. Coby approaches the Marine commander, expressing his desire to join the Marines in order to uphold justice. Impressed by Coby’s bravery demonstrated in his fight against Morgan, the commander welcomes him into their ranks.
As Luffy and Zoro set sail in their boat, they are bid farewell with a salute from Coby as a token of gratitude for saving the town and his life. This salute is followed by salutes from all the soldiers at the Marine base.
