After an emotional farewell, Luffy and the rest set sail to find Nami. Luffy is eager to reunite with her, as they now form a group of five ready to venture into the Grand Line. Luffy describes the Grand Line as both a paradise and a graveyard for pirates. However, Yosaku shares a different perspective, explaining that the Grand Line is far from paradise. It is filled with powerful pirates and the World Government is highly active, backed by the Shichibukai, among whom is Hawk Eye, one of the seven powerful privateers. The Shichibukai strike deals with the government, giving them official status in exchange for sharing a portion of their loot from uncivilized lands. Furthermore, Jinbei, the leader of the Fishmen, who is also a Shichibukai, has unleashed a terrifying monster in the East Blue.
The destination they are headed to is known as “Arlong Park,” and Yosaku warns that Arlong is even more powerful than Don Krieg and his pirates. Before Nami ran away, she was seen fixated on the wanted poster of Arlong. Her behavior became somber, and she left with all the treasure, deceiving everyone. Yosaku believes that it was more than just a coincidence.
Meanwhile, in the north-west region of the East Blue, Captain Nezumi of the Marines takes bribes from Arlong to turn a blind eye to his heinous activities. Arlong, a money-minded fishman, is the ruler of Arlong Park. Nami arrives at Arlong Park and spots a boy just outside the gate, seeking revenge for his father’s death by killing Arlong. Nami easily defeats him, gives him some money, and advises him to leave, as Arlong has no time for children’s games.
It is later revealed that Nami is actually an officer of the Arlong Pirates, and as a reward for her return, a grand feast is arranged. Meanwhile, Zoro and the others also reach the main gate of Arlong Park.
