Luffy and the crew arrive at the renowned Baratie, a sea restaurant in the shape of a giant fish, known for its exceptional food. However, they also notice a marine ship docked beside the restaurant, commanded by Lieutenant Ironfist Fullbody. Upon spotting the pirate ship, Ironfist inquires about its captain, and much to everyone’s surprise, Luffy boldly raises his hand. Ironfist, though, fails to recognize Luffy or their flag and instead identifies Yosaku and Jhonny as bounty hunters, insulting them. Yosaku and Jhonny try to defeat him, but Ironfist easily overpowers them and decides to leave, stating that it’s his day off and he plans to enjoy the restaurant with a lady.
However, to everyone’s shock, the marine ship fires cannonballs at the Going Merry on Ironfist’s orders. Luffy quickly yells “gomu gomu fushen” and inflates himself to deflect the cannonballs, but accidentally redirects one towards the restaurant, damaging the upper apartment.
Ironfist and the lady enter the restaurant, and he tries to impress her with his knowledge of wine. However, Assistant Head Chef Sanji disagrees with his choices and serves the food as required by the lady, disregarding Ironfist’s suggestions. This results in laughter from everyone in the dining area, much to Ironfist’s embarrassment.
Amidst the chaos, the restaurant workers take Luffy to Zeff, the head chef of the restaurant who was injured due to the deflected cannonball. Zeff, with only one leg, tells Luffy that if he doesn’t pay for the damage, he will have to work on the ship for a whole year doing menial tasks.
Inside the restaurant, Ironfist becomes increasingly irritated by Sanji’s responses and decides to sabotage the soup by putting a bug in it and then blaming Sanji. He then breaks the plate, spilling the soup on the floor. Sanji, angered by this act, confronts Ironfist and teaches him a lesson, beating him up and warning him never to do it again.
