Amidst their laughter, Cladhor rearranges the word “assassinate” to “accident.” Jango, in turn, introduces Cladhor as Captain Kuro, who relinquished his identity three years ago when the navy pursued him. Seeking sanctuary in the village, Kuro deceived the locals by pretending to have been executed by the marines, effectively concealing his true self. Cladhor then recalls the sinister plan wherein Jango must hypnotize Miss Kaya and coerce her into writing Cladhor’s name on the inheritance papers. By doing so, Captain Kuro would claim all of Miss Kaya’s wealth, while remaining unknown to the navy, allowing him to amass riches quietly.
Jango reveals that their ship has been anchored nearby for the past week, and the crew stands ready for any orders. However, Luffy carelessly stands up, inadvertently disclosing his presence, and Jango swiftly hypnotizes him, causing him to fall from the cliff and appear dead to everyone.
Unconcerned about Usopp overhearing the entire plan, Cladhor dismisses him as an untrustworthy youngster from the village. Seizing the opportunity, Usopp rushes to the village to warn the villagers about the impending pirate attack the next day. Unfortunately, the villagers, knowing Usopp as a notorious liar, dismiss his warning and continue with their daily tasks.
Meanwhile, Captain Kuro and his crew are poised to carry out their diabolical plan of assassinating the villagers and seizing all of Miss Kaya’s wealth. Their sense of jubilation stems from the culmination of a three-year-long scheme, finally ready to reach its sinister conclusion.
