Chapter 24: Things That You Can’t Lie About

Spread the love

The three village kids, members of the Usopp Pirates, enter the bar with the intention of saving their captain. However, they soon realize that their captain has already departed for the mansion, as it is time for his visit. Inside the mansion, Miss Kaya expresses her desire to meet Usopp, but Mansion Butler Clahdor dismisses her request, citing Usopp’s bad influence and tendency to share unrealistic, imaginative tales. Clahdor takes full responsibility for Miss Kaya’s security and has hired guards to ensure her safety. Nevertheless, Usopp manages to sneak in, surprising Miss Kaya with his sudden appearance, filling her heart with joy.

Usopp proceeds to share adventurous stories with Miss Kaya, which she wholeheartedly enjoys. In the restaurant, the kids reveal that Usopp has been coming to the mansion for a year, weaving fictional stories to lift Miss Kaya’s spirits. Luffy comes to the conclusion that Usopp is a good-hearted individual and decides to follow Usopp’s instructions to find a boat.

As they make their way past the gate, they encounter Usopp, still engaged in conversation with Miss Kaya. However, their presence does not go unnoticed, and Clahdor catches them, demanding that everyone leave immediately. He goes as far as provoking Usopp by disparaging his pirate father who had left the family many years ago. Hurt by Clahdor’s derogatory comments about his father, Usopp is compelled to defend his father’s honor and delivers a punch to the butler, proclaiming his pride in his pirate lineage. Despite Miss Kaya’s attempts to intervene, Clahdor remains undeterred, and tensions escalate.
