Having narrowly survived the lightning strike, Buggy regains his composure, hoping that Mohji, the beast trainer, has successfully carried out their plan to set fire to the ship. Fueled by this glimmer of hope, Buggy, along with Alvida and their crew, hastens to the harbor with the intention of capturing the Straw Hat Pirates. Buggy cleverly divides his body and attaches it to a makeshift motor, transforming himself into an improvised car to pursue Luffy and the others. However, an unforeseen development baffles everyone: a dense white smoke envelops Buggy and his crew, and in a matter of seconds, Captain Smoker apprehends the entire group. The use of iron nets crafted from Sea Prism Stone renders the Devil Fruit users powerless. Even Buggy and Alvida are ensnared in these iron nets, thwarting any possibility of escape. Riding his trike, a three-wheeled bike, Smoker races to capture Luffy and his crew.
Meanwhile, at the western port of the harbor, Mohji’s attempt to ignite the ship is foiled by heavy rainfall preventing him from lighting the matchstick. Ussop seizes the opportunity to intervene, challenging both Mohji and his lion, Richie. Surprisingly, Mohji is swiftly incapacitated from an unexpected blow, allowing Nami and Ussop to board the ship.
As Luffy, Sanji, and Zoro seek to escape, their path is obstructed by Sergeant Major Tashigi and a contingent of marine soldiers. Tashigi confronts Zoro, incensed by what she perceives as his persistent mockery of her. Her goal is to reclaim Wadou Ichimonji from Zoro as part of her mission to recover masterwork swords. A clash of swords ensues, yet Zoro’s exceptional skill proves insurmountable, effortlessly overpowering Tashigi. Zoro chooses not to harm her and departs, leaving Tashigi visibly frustrated. Their interaction reveals that Tashigi’s resemblance to a friend of Zoro’s, who had died years ago, is the source of his discomfort.
As Luffy and Sanji press forward, they encounter Smoker, who remains poised to apprehend them. Sanji charges at Smoker with a powerful kick, but Smoker’s body morphs into smoke, allowing the kick to pass harmlessly through him. Similarly, Luffy’s attempts to strike prove ineffective as his punches pass through Smoker’s smoky form. It appears as though Smoker’s body has become smoke itself. Just as Smoker prepares to deliver a decisive blow with a Sea Prism Stone sword, a mysterious figure intervenes by shrugging Smoker’s shoulder. This sudden turn reveals the presence of Monkey D. Dragon, who sends a gust of wind that creates an opening for Luffy and his companions to escape. Seizing the opportunity, the trio rushes to the western port, where their ship is anchored, and they set sail for the Grand Line, successfully leaving the island. Later reports indicate that in the midst of the gust of wind, Buggy and his crew managed to escape as well. Smoker resolves to pursue them into the Grand Line to settle the score, while Buggy and his crew also set their sights on the Grand Line to challenge Luffy and his crew once again.
As their journey progresses, Luffy and his crew spot a lighthouse in the middle of the sea. Nami explains that this lighthouse, often referred to as the “Light of Guidance,” marks the entrance to the Grand Line. In a symbolic act, each Straw Hat Pirate places their foot on a barrel, reaffirming their dreams as their ship approaches the gateway to the enigmatic Grand Line.
