As Luffy enters Arlong Park, he wastes no time and immediately punches Arlong, sending him flying. Luffy screams at Arlong, furious that he made his navigator, Nami, cry. Everyone present is shocked by Luffy’s strength and determination. The villagers realize that Luffy and his crew are no ordinary individuals, and Yosaku and Johnny warn that if they don’t defeat the Arlong Pirates, East Blue is in great danger.
The villagers are puzzled by why Luffy and his crew would involve themselves in such a life-threatening battle, to which Yosaku replies that just the tears on Nami’s face are reason enough to fight for her. As other fishmen attack Luffy, Sanji, and the others, they are easily defeated by the crew.
The three Arlong Pirates officers, however, decide to intervene. Hachi, one of the officers, blows the trumpet, summoning the giant sea monster, Cow Momo. At first, Momo is terrified and tries to flee, but Arlong threatens her, forcing her to attack the group. In response, Luffy uses a powerful attack called “Gomu Gomu no Spinning Wheel,” where he sticks both legs into the concrete floor, rotates his torso, and holds onto Momo’s horn. Then, he releases his upper body, gaining momentum like a spinning wheel, and with Momo’s help, he clears all the weakling enemies. Momo is sent flying outside the park due to the force of the attack.
Luffy challenges Arlong to a one-on-one fight, while the three officers prepare themselves for the upcoming battle.
