Boodle bravely challenges Buggy to a fight. Cabaji, the acrobat and member 2 of the Buggy pirates, takes out his sword from his mouth, intending to bring eternal peace to Boodle, but Buggy stops him as Boodle has challenged him. Buggy accepts the challenge and demonstrates his devil fruit power by splitting his hand and grabbing Boodle’s neck, choking him. In response, Boodle counterattacks by punching Buggy’s hands and neck.
As Boodle suffers, Buggy tightens his grip, almost causing him to pass out. At that critical moment, Luffy appears and helps Boodle escape from Buggy’s clutches. The trio reappears to settle the score. Luffy knocks out Boodle to prevent him from recklessly charging into the fight, and then he confronts Buggy, making humorous comments about his ugly face and big nose.
Irritated by Luffy’s remarks, Buggy orders his men to fire the buggy balls directly at them. The buggy balls are launched, surprising Nami and Zoro, who quickly seek a safe place. But Luffy inflates his body by taking in a large amount of air, making himself bigger and more resilient. He skillfully deflects the cannonballs directly at the Buggy pirates, defeating half of them instantly.
