Upon seeing Luffy alive, Chief Boodle and Nami are taken aback in surprise. Shushu, still guarding the pet store, faces off with Richiee the lion but ends up injuring himself badly. Seeking revenge for being bitten by Shushu, Mohji callously sets the entire pet store on fire. For Shushu, the store held cherished memories and was something he would live and die for. Witnessing the store in flames, Luffy becomes enraged and confronts Mohji for destroying Shushu’s treasured memories.
Richiee, the lion, once again lunges at Luffy, but Luffy, being a rubber man, stretches his hand to twist and hold Richiee’s face, rapidly untwisting it to spin Richiee around, defeating him in a matter of seconds. Mohji, witnessing Luffy’s incredible strength, surrenders. However, Luffy, still furious, stretches his arm, grabs Mohji by the neck, and punches him, rendering him unconscious.
Luffy then returns to the burning store, but Nami is angry and yells at him, lumping all pirates together as the same. Nevertheless, Luffy manages to save a packet from the pet store and offers it to Shushu as a tribute to his cherished memories. Witnessing this heartfelt gesture, Nami becomes emotional and relieved. In the meantime, Shushu takes the last packet of treasure and leaves.
Meanwhile, Buggy receives the news of Mohji’s defeat and orders his crew to prepare for Buggy Balls, as he plans to blow up the entire town.
