Chapter 9: Evil Woman

Spread the love

Nami, the Pirate Thief, approaches Luffy and proposes a partnership. However, Luffy, lacking any interest in treasure hunting, declines the offer and begins to walk away. Not willing to give up, Nami pursues Luffy, recognizing his strength and how it could benefit her in acquiring more treasure. Nami eventually leads Luffy to a house, where she forcefully expresses her desire to team up with him. She reveals her goal of amassing 100 million belly to purchase a specific village, which astonishes Luffy.

Feeling uneasy about the town’s emptiness, Luffy questions Nami about the situation. Nami explains that the fear instilled by the ruthless and cannon-loving Buggy Pirates has forced the entire town to seek shelter outside the village. To gather the significant amount of money needed, Nami plans to venture into the Grand Line and steal from wealthier pirates. She also emphasizes her exceptional navigation skills.

Excited by this revelation, Luffy enthusiastically counteroffers, inviting Nami to join his crew. Nami agrees to join but expresses her desire to meet Buggy. They make their way to a bar, where the Buggy Pirates have established their base. Just outside the bar, Nami deceives Luffy by tying him up and handing him over to Buggy, falsely accusing him of being responsible for everything. Nami has tricked Luffy for her own benefit. Her true plan is to gain the trust of the Buggy Pirates, steal their ship and treasure, and set sail for the Grand Line. She then requests to become a member of the Buggy Pirates, and due to her skillful navigation, her request is accepted.

Meanwhile, Zoro also arrives on the same island, searching for Buggy in hopes of finding a clue about Luffy’s whereabouts.
